1st Annual T.O.A Hockey Awards

After months off & decisions on what should be part of this 1st ever award post, we here at T.O.A. have finally come up with what we like to call, "The 1st Annual T.O.A. Hockey Awards"!

First off let us start off by saying that this lockout was one of the most stressful times for hockey players, fans, & all associated with the game. It was a tough road, but in the end we got a season that left us salivating for more, which we know 2013-14 will deliver to us. But it's now time to focus on what shined last season in our T.O.A. NHL Power Rankings (as well as what seemed rather dull):


T.O.A. President's Trophy Award:

Chicago Blackhawks (10 out of 12 weeks at #1 & all in a row)
2nd Place: (2-way tie) San Jose Sharks & Tampa Bay Lightning (each with 1 week at #1)

Highest Power Index in One Week:

Tampa Bay Lightning ("8.875" in Week 2)
2nd Place: San Jose (8.5) in Week 1

Highest Average Power Index:

Screw Jarome Iginla Talks: Let's Watch Some Weather!

Amidst of all the Jarome Iginla talk, whether he went to Boston or Pittsburgh (which was a hilarious attempt at trolling), I'd like to bring you an incredible weather report done by Phoenix Coyotes very own Mikkel Boedker courtesy of the NHL Network:

Classic stuff right there. But all jokes aside, it seems that the new CBA hasn't really altered the thinking of the league's GMs. A lot of the tension that forced the lockout was the ridiculous player contracts that were fueled by cutthroat GMs that were focused so much on winning that they did whatever it took to do it.

Not that that's such a bad thing, but when Pittsburgh is making a push like this, I can see Chicago & possily Boston & Anaheim also putting their foot on the gas, further accelerating contracts & trade negotiations through the roof. I guess we'll have to deal with it when 2021-2022 NHL Season comes around.

Sidney Crosby? The Cross-Dresser??

Reports from the Sportress of Blogitude have surfaced over Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby's decline during the lockout break.



Apparently Sid the Kid hasn't been hitting the gym as much as he should as has slowly been withering away to resemble the likes of a "middle-aged woman". Here's a picture courtesy of the Blogitude showing the alarming present day shape "The Next One" is in:



A sad day indeed when such a young and prosperous player declines to sheer rubble under the pressure of greatness.
