Best NHL Fights This Week

Thanks to the boys at Punch Drunk Love, we have this epic compilation of this week's (10/7-10/13) top 5 fights in the NHL. I'm not going to embed all the videos (click the link if you want, don't be lazy), but I will put up the best of the top 5, & boy was it the best.

Tanner Glass of the Pittsburgh Penguins squared off on October 8, 2013 with Carolina Hurricane's Jay Harrison. Now Tanner is not much of an enforcer, in fact he isn't at all. He's just a solid 4th liner much like Jay, but boy did they go at it:

Great K.O. A lot of good punches thrown & a lot of good movement. But like always, this leads me down the road of, "should fighting still be allowed in hockey?"

The tradition of fighting in hockey is something that should not be tampered with. You cannot compare the fighting in baseball (bench clearing craziness with bats) or football (thugs swinging helmets & stomping cleats) to the subdued, gentlemanly ballet that is a hockey fight. There are an unwritten set of rules in a hockey fight that are not present in sports that don't allow it. With that, it makes the fighting safer & more meaningful when you are trying to swing the feel of the game in your favor.

Whatever, great fight & check out the link up top from Puck Drunk Love or click here!
