Last week we suspended the T.O.A. Week #10 Power Rankings to work on a better formula. This week we are still using the old one, but have made significant strides to improving the ranks. The rankings for last week were drawn up, but never published, so we are basing a lot of last week's stats with this week's. Today, we present to you the T.O.A. Week #11 NHL Power Rankings: The Penguins at trade deadline made all the splashes, & all that's left for them in the regular season is trying to pry the President's Trophy out of the hands of Chicago. This week there was a lot of movement clubs' power index. Carolina had the largest loss in losing 13 games on their +/- ranks, which solidifies them as the team with the biggest negative movement so far this year. Some large jumps were also recorded by San Jose & Edmonton, netting 11 postie spot movements from last week, the second largest movements this year. The two statistical anomalies (Tampa Bay & Nashville) have now become just one, prompting for the formula change. Tampa Bay simply keeps moving on up & that has a lot of credit to do with their 117 total amassed goals this season (placing their Power Index at almost 4 points every week). Playoffs are knocking at our door & that means two things: 1) A never before done playoff power ranking & bracket prediction will be delivered soon & 2) The first ever T.O.A. Power Ranking Awards will be presented! So without any further ado here's the ranks:
Who's Hot?: San Jose, Edmonton & Philadelphia
Who's Not?: Ottawa, New Jersey, Winnipeg & Carolina
